Quality
Assurance provides TWR's customers with the piece of mind, that
the job will be done right! |
 |
On
January 9, 2006, TWR Enterprises, Inc. commenced operation of its
newly redesigned
Quality Assurance program. Robert Graf, Senior Field Manager,
has been
assigned the additional responsibilities of the Quality Assurance
Manager and
will oversee the company’s implementation of the program.
Quality has traditionally been a cornerstone value in every
aspect of TWR’s
framing operations. Historically, TWR has utilized various quality control
procedures to ensure its quality product. These methods
have included jobsite inspections,
quality checklists as well as on-the-job training. In order to become certified
under the guidelines outlined by the NAHB’s National Housing Quality
(NHQ) Certified Trade Contractor Program, TWR has taken its existing quality
programs
and modified them to meet the requirements of the NHQ program.
In October 2005, Robert Graf, Amy Strommer, and Robert Wellman attended a three-day
quality seminar sponsored by Barratt American in Carlsbad. Once back in the offices,
a comprehensive Quality Assurance Manual was written specifying the procedures
needed to obtain a continuous cycle of improvement during the framing process.
All TWR foremen will undergo training and become qualified inspectors. Every
house framed by TWR will have a final, written record showing that a walked quality
inspection occurred. A key component of this program is the monthly Hot-Spot
Training. Each month, a quality problem is identified and then a training guide
is developed to prevent these errors in the future. It is through this cyclical
program of inspecting, training, and preventing that TWR will continuously improve
in all operational areas.
To assess and monitor the level of builder/customer satisfaction, a
survey was sent out at the end of the year. The results were impressive!
In
every category
measured, our average scores ranged from good to excellent. Some of the
common responses included “TWR is a great trade partner” and “Great
Company”. These surveys demonstrated TWR delivers a quality product and
service. Ultimately, TWR is positioning itself to not only meet but to exceed
our customer’s expectations.

Safety
First - All foreman & field managers
re-certify in first aid training every year
|
 |
T.W.R.
regards safety as its highest priority for its employees. February
is when our Foreman will attend an American Red Cross facilitated
re-certification class in First Aid and CPR. Each foreman receives
a card identifying them as certified in these procedures and a
copy is kept in our corporate office.
T.W.R. strives to minimize exposure to our employees and reduce jobsite
accidents. Our jobsite foremen hold weekly safety meetings on various
topics, including but not limited to, personal protective equipment,
safe operation of hand tools, and fall protection.
Through this training employees are trained to recognize potential
hazards as well react effectively if an accident should occur. Through
highly trained foreman, our goal is to create a safer working environment
for everyone.

Getting
to know the Payroll department |
 |
This
past year there was a substantial increase to the volume of homes
being
built in the industry. TWR was fortunate to work with several builders
in Southern California to complete over 5500 homes in 2005. TWR
Enterprises, Inc. employed over 7600 employees in 2005 to accomplish
this! The Payroll Department at TWR has the responsibility of insuring
that each of the employees is paid on a weekly basis. This process
consists of collecting the timecards from the foreman each week,
processing the new hire paperwork,
and distributing the checks to the appropriate locations. Each week
the average payroll is for 2500 employees or more working at anyone
one time during a particular week. This month TWR would like to recognize
the extraordinary efforts of the Payroll staff for their excellence
in their work on a consistent basis, through the many challenges of
processing the weekly payroll.
